Rug Cleaning

Each Oriental rug is as unique as the person who owns it and is treated as such. The care and process are determined individually. To make sure that your rug is restored to the best possible condition, we follow this rug cleaning special process for handmade wool rugs. You cannot get your rug cleaner.

Step 1: Pre-inspection for soiling and stains, tears, wear, and damage is done for a condition report. That way you will know what to expect for final result from your rug cleaning.

Step 2: We then test for color fastness to determine whether a dry or wet cleaning method will be used.

Step 3: We measure for shrinkage, warpage and other anomalies, which can have an adverse effect on the results.

Step 4: We "dust" the rug by submitting it mechanical stimulation upside down on rack to bring the dirt, harmful dust, and allergens from deep within your rug's fibers. Then the rug is vacuumed completing dry cleaning part of the process.

Step 5: We gently massage wool-safe shampoos into the rug proper to dissolve, soils, stains and traffic marks, while disinfecting any organisms managing to slip through step 4.

Step 6: We then inject a clear rinse into your rug from both sides in order to thoroughly flush out all remaining traces of cleaners and particles in preparation for the final step.

Step 7: Potential problem areas such as fringes are hand-washed and spot cleaned, ensuring no detail is too small to ignore.

Step 8: Your newly cleaned and sanitized rug is now moved to our fan-equipped drying room where your rug is quickly dried.

Step 9: The last (and possibly most important) step in your rug cleaning is the final inspection, where we: Step 10: Your newly cleaned rug is now restored and ready for your pick-up or delivery to you. Before accepting payment, however, we insist that our work has to pass YOUR final approval*, because the job isn't complete until you are delighted.
